ब्रह्ममुरारिसुरार्चितलिङ्गं निर्मलभासितशोभितलिङ्गम् ।
जन्मजदुःखविनाशकलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥१॥

brahma-murari-sura-arcita-linggam nirmal-bhasita-shobhita-linggam |
janmaja-duhkha-vinaashaka-linggam tat Pranna-maami-sada-shiva-linggam ||1||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam 
which is adorned by Brahma, Vishnu, and the devatas,
which is pure, shinning and well-adorned,
 which destroys the sorrow of life ||1||

देवमुनिप्रवरार्चितलिङ्गं कामदहं करुणाकरलिङ्गम् ।
रावणदर्पविनाशनलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥२॥

dev-muni-pravar-chhita-lingam kam-daham-karuna-kar-linggam |
ravan-darpan-vinashan-lingam tat-pranamami-sada-shiva-lingam||2||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam
which is worshipped by devatas and sages,
which burns desires and which is comapssionate,
and who (Shiva) destroyed the pride of Ravan. ||2||

सर्वसुगन्धिसुलेपितलिङ्गं बुद्धिविवर्धनकारणलिङ्गम् ।
सिद्धसुरासुरवन्दितलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥३॥

sarva-sugandhi-sule-pita-linggam buddhi-vivardhan-karan-linggam |
siddha-sura-asura-vandita-linggam tat-pranamami-sadashiva-linggam ||3||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam,
which is smeared with fragrant pastes,
which increases the intelligence (of devotee),
which is praised by siddhas, devatas, asuras. ||3||

कनकमहामणिभूषितलिङ्गं फणिपतिवेष्टितशोभितलिङ्गम् ।
दक्षसुयज्ञविनाशनलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥४॥

kanaka-maha-mani-bhusita-linggam fani-pati-veshtita-shobita-linggam |
daksha-suyagya-vinashan-linggam tat-pranamami-sadashiva-linggam ||4||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam,
which is decorated with gold and other precious ornaments,
which is adorned with serpents wrapped around it,
and who (Shiva) destroyed fire sacrifice of Daksha ||4||

कुङ्कुमचन्दनलेपितलिङ्गं पङ्कजहारसुशोभितलिङ्गम् ।
सञ्चितपापविनाशनलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥५॥

kumkum-chandan-lepita-linggam pankaja-hara-sushobita-linggam |
sanchita-paap-vinashana-linggam tat-pranamami-sadashiva-linggam ||5||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam,
which is smeared with saffron and sandal paste,
which is beautiful decorated with garland of lotus,
which destroys the accumalted sins of many lifetime ||5||

देवगणार्चितसेवितलिङ्गं भावैर्भक्तिभिरेव  लिङ्गम् ।
दिनकरकोटिप्रभाकरलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥६॥

dev-ganar-chita-sevita-linggam bhavair-bhakti-bhireva-cha-linggam |
dinkara-koti-prabhakar-linggam tat-pranamami-sadashiva-linggam ||6||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam,
which is served by group of devatas,
with true emotions and devotion,
which has the brilliance of millions of suns ||6||

अष्टदलोपरिवेष्टितलिङ्गं सर्वसमुद्भवकारणलिङ्गम् ।
अष्टदरिद्रविनाशितलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥७॥

ashta-dalo-pariveshtita-linggam sarva-samud-bhava-karana-linggam |
ashta-daridra-vinashita-linggam tat-pranamami-sadashiva-linggam ||7||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam,
which is surrounded by eight-petalled flowers,
which is cause behind the creation (of universe),
and which destroys eight kind of poverties ||7||

सुरगुरुसुरवरपूजितलिङ्गं सुरवनपुष्पसदार्चितलिङ्गम् ।
परात्परं परमात्मकलिङ्गं तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम् ॥८॥

suraguru-suravara-pujita-linggam suravana-pushpa-sada-arcita-linggam |
paratparam param-atmaka-linggam tat pranamami sadashiva-linggam ||8||

I pay my obeisance to Shiva Lingam,
which is worshipped by devatas and their guru,
which is always worshipped by flowers from garden of devatas,
which is superior than the best and which is the greatest ||8||

लिङ्गाष्टकमिदं पुण्यं यः पठेत् शिवसन्निधौ ।
शिवलोकमवाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदते

linggashtakam-idam punyam yah patthet shiva-sannidhau |
shiva-lokam-avaapnoti shivena-saha-modate ||
